Lewer Wedel…The Missing Link.

My brother Greg and I once fancied a new kind of animal when we were young. This “animal” was half human and half ape as it were. We named it “Lewer Wedel”..I still to this day don’t have a clue as to how that name came to be. But Greg and I had vivid imaginations as kids and we scripted many a tale of senior citizens named “Martha and  Mildred” suddenly getting “The Spell” and turning into one of these wild savage beasts named Lewer Wedel“ and Lewing” the crap out of one another (You don’t know what Lewing is?…(hint… all blows in this mock wrestling/boxing match are below the belt…get it?)

Maybe it was the Werewolf movies we watched as kids. We would transform ourselves into wild beasts in a matter of 10 seconds…A protruding lower (Lewer) jaw, (45 degree angle for the head) a wild and savage sounding “gutteral” emanating from the belly of this Beast with both “paws” (hands) menacingly placed in front of said protruding lower jaw and from there all insanity would cut loose as we went from the year 1968 all the way back to 55000 BC in seconds. Frightening to say the least…And after you get the hang of it and allow yourself to be Lewered into this state, a very hilarious state of mind ensues.

When I went to ASU University in Tempe AZ in 1969 I recruited a few loyal “Wedels” on campus and to this day I still say to them the only words a “Wedel” can say..”WHOA YEAH???”…They still remember this and answer “YEAH”…

And so my fellow Wedels Let the word go forth…Stick that Lower Jaw out and bare your “lewer” teeth only, Gutteral, “lew” (strike at the groin area) someone and in general…Become an ape ..The Missing Link is here…It’s state on mind…It’s very therapeutic you see…J
